Adding a Connection for eDOCS DM

This topic explains how to add a connection to Open Text eDOCS DM (Hummingbird). A database connection is used.

To add a connection for eDOCS DM,

  1. Click Setup.
  2. Click the Data Source Management tab.
  3. On the Connections page, click New Data Source.
  4. Enter the following information.

  5. Field Name

    Description

    Type

    The data source used to manage the documents (i.e., eDOCS DB).

    Use Windows Authentication

    A database account is used by default to access the database for eDOCS DM and the documents are you going to index. If you want to use a Windows account instead, select this option and contact your West km representative for more information.

    User Name and Password

    The user name and password for a database user account with access to the database for eDOCS DM.

    Server Name

    The name of the server where the database for eDOCS DM is located. (The server name must use only alphanumeric characters; underscores are not allowed.)

    Version

    The full version and point release used. For example, for eDOCS version 10, type 10.0 in the version box.

    Library

    The name of the database or library containing the documents you want to index.


  6. If you want to select a library group for this data source, see Selecting a Library Group for details.

  7. Click Save.
