DMS Settings for eDOCS DM (eDOCS DB)

To set options for eDOCS DM, on the System Options page, click DMS Settings and then click eDOCS DB. Make the changes you want to the settings on that page and click Save.

Note: You may have an API connection (not a database connection) to eDOCS DM. For more information about setting options for an eDOCS DM API connection, see DMS Settings for eDOCS DM (API Connection).

Note: DMS settings are displayed only for the document management systems for which a data source connection is set up. If you do not see the options for your DMS on the System Options, DMS Settings page, first add a data source connection. See Adding a Connection for eDOCS DM (Database Connection) for details.

Security Lump Size

Security Cache Groups

If selected, group permissions are checked for users on a per-process basis.

Use DM6.0 Schema

If you are indexing documents in eDOCS DM 6.0.x with a database connection, select this option so that West km uses the correct eDOCS DM database schema.

Use Client Matter Metadata

If selected, client matter metadata is loaded from the DMS database.

Use Sub Versions

If selected, sub-versions are used for documents.

Important: Changing this setting requires re-indexing.

Use Matter Custom Sql

If selected, the client ID, client name, matter ID, and matter name are retrieved from custom fields instead of the default fields.

Matter Custom Sql

A valid SQL query used to retrieve the client ID, client name, matter ID, and matter name from custom fields.

The following aliases must be used:
client_id
client_name
matter_id
matter_name

This setting is ignored if Use Matter Custom sql is not selected.

Use Document Type (Class) Custom Sql

If selected, the document type (class) is retrieved from a custom field instead of the default field.

Document Type (Class) Custom Sql

A valid SQL query used to retrieve the document type (class) from a custom field. The custom_class alias must be used.

This setting is ignored if Use Document Type (Class) Custom Sql is not selected.

Custom Fields

Allows you to map a custom field in West km to data in eDOCS DM (database connection).

  • Type the name of the field as it is known in eDOCS DM in databaseowner.tablename.fieldname format in the DMS Field text box.
  • If the field is not part of the Profile, People, DocumentTypes, Components, or Versions table in eDOCS DM, specify how the field’s table is joined to one of those tables by typing a SQL statement in the JOIN text box.
