Adding a Connection for the NT File System

To add a connection for the NT file system, complete these steps:

1. Point to the Setup link, and then click Data Source Management.
2. At the Data Source Management page, click Add Connection from the Tasks list.

3. Enter the following information.

Field Name	Description
Connection Type	The data source used to manage the documents (i.e., NTFS).
Server	The name of the server containing the documents you want to index. (The server name must use only alphanumeric characters; underscores are not allowed.)
Share	The shared location used to store documents on the server. For example, if the server and share is \\pheasant\documents, then type documents.
Novell ID and Novell Password	If your organization uses Novell network software, the user ID and password for the Novell server on which documents are stored.
Novell IP	If your organization uses Novell network software, the Novell NDS Server IP address.




4. If you want to select a library group for this data source, see Selecting a Library Group for details.

5. Click Save.

To return to the listing of data source connections on the Data Source Management page, click Connections List.
